Community Supports

We are committed to offering a variety of opportunities for people with disability to choose, create and be involved in the everyday activities within their community. Community Supports are focused on capacity building to give participants the skills required to live an independent, fulfilling life.

These activities also offer an opportunity to develop friendships and connect participants to broader social roles and involvement in their community. Community Support activities are also suggested by the person, who may be interested in learning something new, exploring parts of their town or being involved in a fun, social event.

At Brighter Access, we can offer group, 1:2 or 1:1 staffing for various Community Supports. This may look something like a leisure activity or excursion, assistance at work or attending an annual festival.

Community Supports also includes personal care and high behaviour support provided by highly-trained staff and our knowledgeable Behaviour Support Specialists.

In-Home Supports

Our In-Home Supports also assist in developing life skills and capacity building.

We offer support with basic domestic chores, meal preparation, assistance when a carer is unavailable and overnight supports. In-Home Supports focus on assistance with recreational activities and the individual interests of the participant.

We encourage our participants to build on their interests, talents and gifts.

Short-Term and Medium-Term Accommodation

At Brighter Access, we provide a variety of flexible short-term and medium-term accommodation options for all ages. We have facilities perfectly situated within our various locations to house those in need of respite, or we can provide support within the home if carers are away.

Our services within short-term and medium-term accommodation include community participation, personal care, life skills and support provided in-home or at our accommodation premises.

Our accommodation options offer participants a safe and nurturing environment assisted by highly-skilled and informed staff. We always aim to create that ‘at-home’ feel in all of our properties to help participants feel comfortable and relaxed.

Visit our Hub Spaces

We have two fantastic Hub spaces, one in Inverell and the other in Tamworth, where NDIS participants can work on their skill building, socialise with others and feel safe to explore new interests. These Hub spaces are equip with a kitchenette, sitting areas, technology, arts and crafts, musical instruments and other resources.

1:1, 2:1 and group supports are offered to participants within these spaces depending on the specific needs and goals of each NDIS participant. Many of the activities offered at our Hub spaces are tailored to the suggestions of NDIS participants.

In Tamworth, The Hub offers after-school care, day programs and social nights, as well as a support group for carers.
