Accommodation

Supported Independent Living (SIL)

At Brighter Access, we understand the importance of having your own home which is why we provide different housing options to assist in finding the perfect fit for each participant.

We offer accessible housing, individual units or shared homes with person-centred supports focused on skill and knowledge building so our participants can live independent, fulfilling lives.

Our passionate Brighter Access Support Workers assist Supported Independent Living (SIL) participants with grocery shopping, meal preparation, budgeting and financial education, household tasks, personal care, community participation and public transport education.

We encourage participants to access and be more involved in their community and often suggest new hobbies based on what our participants’ interests and skills are.

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is for participants with high needs who require specialist housing solutions. Assessed separately to SIL, SDA is funded through Capital Supports.

Our eligible participants receive SDA payments, which we can claim as a registered NDIS provider, to ensure their homes are built with the design and technology features to suit their specific needs.

We have a range of housing options that meet SDA requirements and assist us in supporting our participants to have the best life they can.

Finding the right home

Brighter Access works with Enlarge Living, real estate agents and investors to offer modern, accessible homes for our participants to live in and call their own across the New England, Hunter, Central Coast and Mid North Coast.

Enlarge Living helps people with disability to dream, design and choose where they want to live, and who they want to live with. House designs offered by Enlarge Living take into consideration the needs of participants while incorporating landscaping and modern design features to entertain friends and family in a home they can be proud of.

Finding the right housemate

It is important to us that our participants have choice and control over decisions that affect their lives, including who they live with. By discussing your interests, dislikes and needs, we can match you with housemates that you feel comfortable with.

We try to find the right fit by matching housemates who share similar beliefs, interests and needs. Once our participants are moved in, household decisions are made as a group and include input from each occupant.
