Olivia’s traineeship has made her a better Support Worker

Olivia Aylett

Congratulations to Disability Support Worker Olivia Aylett who is the first Brighter Access employee to complete her Certificate III Individual Support Traineeship.

Based in Cessnock, Olivia has been with Brighter Access for around a year and a half. As someone who has always loved helping and caring for people, the disability sector was a perfect fit for Liv.

“My older brother has Autism, Aspergers and ADHD. Growing up I always tended to care for him,” she said.

Olivia accepted the traineeship opportunity as she felt eager to further her knowledge and improve her skills as a Disability Support Worker. During her studies, Olivia said she learnt a lot of things and gained new skills.

“My favourite part of completing my Cert III was learning how far the disability sector has evolved since the old days. I feel like I’m a better Support Worker now and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to complete the traineeship,” she said.

Olivia finds great reward in the moments when her Participants are laughing, smiling and showing how happy they are. As for what she loves most about being a Disability Support Worker…

“Everyday is different and work is never boring. It’s always keeping me on my toes, it’s very rewarding and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else!” she said.
