Early Childhood

Early Intervention

Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) supports children, and their families/carers, under the age of seven who may be taking longer to reach key developmental milestones.

At Brighter Access, we have designed a safe space, known as ‘The Cottage’, where our staff work with families to help their child develop the skills they need to take part in daily activities and improve their development.

We also work with local Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and other health professionals to ensure each child receives support for their specific needs.

Our staff focus on learning through play, life skills, community participation and social interaction. We hold regular centre-based playgroups and family sessions, where we invite siblings, family members and carers to engage in the planned activities.

While each journey through ECEI will differ, The Cottage brings families/carers together who care relate, share information, and offer support to one another. Our staff also assist in the transition to school, and many of the families who start with us in ECEI often engage with Brighter Access for support services further down the track.

Resourcing, supporting and empowering families to make informed choices within their community is one of our key values at Brighter Access, and is a big focus with our ECEI services.
